Summary:
Transport reactions are reactions in which at least one species is transported (passively or actively) across a membrane. The species may or may not be chemically modified in the course of the reaction. A transport reaction is assumed to occur physiologically in the direction written; if it proceeds in the reverse direction, this fact should be indicated in the enzymatic-reaction for a given transporter.
